The centre used to organize book festivals and cultural meetings at a time when it was not very common. Starting 2003, it conducted National Book Festival for four years. Every year, prominent writers and literateurs from across the country, participated in the festival. The centre gradually stopped organizing the festivals after many publishing houses and government bodies started conducting similar ones.
However, the Book Club at the Centre still hosts and conducts book releasing functions and book discussions. Many renowned writers have released their bookshere. Similarly, discussions on latest and classic books are conducted regularly at the centre. Leading writers, literateurs and book aficionados participate in these events.
